Get to Know Our Salsa Company

We take great pride in our commitment to our customers and the products we produce. This online store is designed to provide you with a simple and secure environment to order our great salsas and chiles.

Our family tradition began in 1953 in the small town of Fort Lupton, Colorado, 26 miles north of Denver. Those were the good times, when you could buy a soda pop for 10 cents, the music was 5 cents and you could get a combination plate for only $1.25! This first La Estrellita Mexican Restaurant was owned by Grandma Stella and Grandpa Sal Montoya. They closed the restaurant in 1967.

Twenty years later in 1986, their son John R. Montoya along with his family, John Jr. who now owns the                                 , Ken, Steve and Gina again started the proud tradition of La Estrellita, serving “the finest Mexican food in Colorado.” Since then our restaurant has been awarded “Top 50 Hispanic Restaurants” by Hispanic Magazine and we still proudly serve the Brighton community.

In 1995, because of the enormous demand from our customers, we started bottling our salsas. We now offer restaurant style salsa, jalapeño salsa, and Green Vegetarian Chile all 100% Natural and made in Brighton, Colorado.

Denver KMGH Channel 7 has awarded our Green Chile the “Best Veggie Chile in Colorado”
